Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) is a natural form of sulfur. Your skin, hair and nails have a high requirement for sulfur in order to keep them looking healthy.

The appearance of a person’s skin gives us a lot of information about their health. Your skin is your largest organ. High levels of body toxicity are often expressed in the skin through conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and itchy skin. Of course a person’s skin is the number one indicator of their age. Naturally then most people are concerned about the appearance of their skin; specifically lines and wrinkles.

A recent study published in Natural Medicine Journal found that oral supplementation with MSM reduced the appearance of wrinkles. The study was a double blind placebo controlled trial. 20 female volunteers received either 3 grams of MSM each day or a placebo. The trial lasted for 16 weeks. The health of the women’s skin was evaluated via expert grading, instrumentation, and their own self assessment at the 8 week mark and again at the 16 week mark.

The results were very impressive. The women who took MSM showed statistically significant improvements by expert grading in skin firmness, crow’s feet, texture and tone.  When the researchers used photo instrumentation analysis, they found that MSM supplementation caused statistically significant improvements in total count, length, severity, and deep lines for wrinkles.

The MSM was well tolerated; the women did not experience any side effects. Your body uses MSM to manufacture collagen and elastin. Give it the building blocks it needs to create smooth, supply skin.
