The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Diet

What is HCG?

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone produced by females when they are pregnant. One of the purposes of HCG during pregnancy is to ensure the growing baby has a constant supply of energy and nutrients by mobilising the mother’s fat reserves as required.

In the 1950s and 1960s the use of HCG for weight loss in men and women was developed by Dr Simeons in Italy. He was a medical doctor and finetuned the HCG Diet over two decades. Dr Simeons developed a protocol that worked quickly, was very simplistic and had long term success.

He discovered the connection between obesity and hormonal imbalance in adolescent boys and used HCG successfully to combat this. Dr Simeons developed the use of HCG as a treatment to achieve weight loss and found it extremely effective when done properly, as it corrected a metabolic disorder of the hypothalamus. He realised that regularly timed, small doses of HCG in the average person (both men and women who are not pregnant), would have the same effect – namely mobilising approximately 2,000-2,500 calories worth of stored energy per day!

That’s nearly half a kilogram (1.1 pounds) of body fat per day that is made available to the body for use as fuel; this translates to you losing nearly half a kilogram of fat per day!

The HCG allows your body to tap into your abnormal and excess fat deposits, whether they be on the abdomen, shoulders, upper arms, hips, thighs or buttocks.
